Jack-of-all-trades: Mark Lettieri Takes Stage At Elements of Sound

A true jack-of-all-trades in the music world. Mark Lettieri is a guitarist, composer, producer, music instructor, husband, father, GRAMMY winner, and so much more. He is currently based in Fort Worth, Texas.

 

Lettieri made an appearance at Elements of Sound along with Phil X, Andy Wood, Josh Smith, Ariel Posen, and special guest, Andy Timmons.

 

San Francisco born, Lettieri moved to Texas to study at Texas Christian University where he pursued public relations and advertising. He also ran track and field while attending TCU. Upon graduation, Lettieri began his music career in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.


Lettieri plays a wide variety of genres as well as plays music for both independent and major-label artists. He started in gospel and R&B genres which led him to the jazz group, Snarky Puppy in 2008. He is a guitarist as well as a composer and arranger for the group. Snarky Puppy has been nominated and awarded three GRAMMY Awards: Best R&B Performance for "Something" feat. Lalah Hathaway in 2014, and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album (Sylva in 2016, and Culcha Vulcha in 2017).

Lettieri has also released solo albums: Knows, Futurefun, Spark and Echo, and most recently, Deep: The Baritone Sessions. His albums have spanned from 2011 to 2019.

 A couple of years ago, Lettieri joined up with Vulpeck spin-off group: The Fearless Flyers. The group has released two EPs, The Fearless Flyers, and The Fearless Flyers II.

According to his website, Lettieri has worked with various music icons throughout his career. Some include: Erykah Badu, Anthony Evans, Phillip Phillips, Nelly, Anthony Evans, Chrisette Michele, Myron Butler, N'dambi, Bilal, and comedians Dave Chappelle and Harry Shearer. Most recently, he has worked with some other big name musicians like: David Crosby, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Adam Levine, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Tori Kelly, Ledisi, Tamela Mann, Eric Roberson, Lecrae, Lupe Fiasco, Keyshia Cole, and Xzibit.

After his appearance at Elements of Sound, Lettieri will be touring the world with Snarky Puppy.
